Fr. Michael Teng, ofm talks on Islamization, Extremism and Fanatism

This morning, we had Fr. Michael Teng, ofm, a Capuchin priest from Johor-Melaka Diocese concelebrating the weekend mass together with Fr. Francis Andrew. After mass, at 10.30 am, Fr. Michael gave us a session entitled Islamization - Extremism and Fanatism. to about 70 participants, mostly from the KCCS (Kelantan Catholic Campus Solidarity) together with parents and youths.
He began with some historical facts on Islam and its prophet Mohammad, and how to counter questions about our Catholic faith. He further advised his listeners not to be taken in or be trapped by sweet talk or threats from those who are trying to convert us. If we are strong in our faith, we should not be afraid. Hence, we need to deepen our knowledge and understanding of our personal beliefs, by prayer and studying God's Word.
At the end of the session, brochures and leaflets in BM and English were shared out among the participants. We are reminded that in Malaysia, once you are converted, you cannot expect to revert to your original religion.

The Parish wishes to thank Fr. Michael Teng for visiting us and for his sharing and encouragement.
