Welcome and Farewell

This morning, the parish welcomes new Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Francis Andrews and bids farewell to Archbishop Emeritus Murphy Pakiam who has been with us since March 2015 as resident priest.

The mass was concelebrated by Bishop Sebastian Francis, Archbishop Emeritus Murphy Pakiam, Bishop Emeritus Antony Selvanayagam, Rev. Fr. Francis Andrews and Rev. Fr. Stanislaus.
In installing the new parish priest, Bishop Sebastian reminded him to be ever on mission, to visit the outlying communities of Kuala Krai, Kem Desa Pahlawan, Kem Batu Sebelas, Kem Pengkalan Chepa and as far as the TUDM Kem at Gong Kedak, near Jertih. He gave 3 words to the parish to observe and reflect and carry out, 1. Discipleship 2. Mission  3. Mercy. "We are all called to be Missionary Disciples of Mercy!" he exhorted the congregation.
Later, in his speech, PPC Chairman, Gerard Yeo spoke in BM, thanking the  Archbishop Emeritus Murphy Pakiam for his tremendous service to the parish as resident priest, looking after our spiritual welfare during the time he was here.
He presented  tokens of appreciation to the Bishop Sebastian for being our parish administrator in the absence of the parish priest, and also to Archbishop Emeritus Murphy Pakiam.
A welcoming gift was also presented to Fr. Francis Andrews.

The Archbishop assured the parish that he had a wonderful time here, and happy that he had been able to serve the people. He urged the parish to continue their mission to reach out the marginalized and the poor.
In his short introduction as parish priest, Fr. Francis Andrews said he was very happy to be sent here by Bishop Sebastian, and looked forward to working with the PPC and parishioners.
After mass, there was fellowship and breakfast, as parishioners pose for photos with Archbishop Emeritus Murphy Pakiam.
"Au Revoir Archbishop! May God continue to bless you in your new missionYou will always be in our hearts!":
