Happy Birthday Fr. Francis!
At this morning weekend mass, the whole parish celebrated Fr. Francis's birthday. After Post communion prayers 2 young children pushed in the birthday cake to the singing of "Happy Birthday to You". Fr. Francis made a wish, said a short prayer, before blowing out the candles and cutting the cake. He was presented a 'Birthday Angpow' by PPC chairman, Mr. Gerard Yeo. "Happy Birthday Fr. Francis! May God Bless you today and Everyday!"

Year of Mercy Pilgrimage to St. Anne's
The Parish of Our Lady of Fatima Kota Bharu made a special Year of Mercy pilgrimage to St. Anne's Church Bukit Mertajam from 19 - 20 August 2016. 44 parishioners led by our Parish Priest, Fr. Francis Andrew Friday morning in high spirits, reaching our destination in the afternoon. After checking in at the Dormitory, where they were putting up for the night, the pilgrims prayed the Stations of the Cross around St. Anne's Church compound, before entering the Door of Mercy. It was a time of grace, when God's mercy was felt by the pilgrims.
After a delicious high tea on Penang Island, the pilgrims dropped in for a visit to College General, Batu Ferringhi beach, and late dinner at Gurney Northam Cafe before returning to St. Anne's. The youths prayed the rosary at the shrine, before turning in for the night.
Next morning, after attending morning mass by Monsignor Henry Rajoo, they had breakfast at Bukit Mertajam Market, taking time to shop. They then took a ferry to Penang Island, dropping in at the Catholic Information Service. After a sumptious lunch, the group made the long journey back to Kota Bharu. On the return journey, each pilgrim shared what they felt and experienced. It was a rewarding and memorable trip and the first time, such a pilgrimage was organized. Thank you to the organizers and to Fr. Francis Andrew and we hope more pilgrimages will be organized in the future.

Farewell to Dr. Hady and Ernawati!
Tonight, the Parish bids farewell to Dr. Hady Lee and his wife, Ernawati Hu, and their two children who were both born here in Kota Bharu. Dr. Hady has been here for the last 8 years, as a student enrolled in the USM Masters programme, and later as a specialist/lecturer. He has been in the Parish Pastoral Council as a member of the Parish Human Development Committee, and as a lector and member of Jalan Kuala Krai BEC, despite his busy schedule. His wife, Ernawati joins in parish activities and is very supportive of her husband. We shall miss this young couple and their family, as they go home to start new life in Pekan Baru, Sumatra.
Thank you Dr. Hady and Family and May God continue to bless you and guide you in your new life!
