Farewell & God Bless Sr. Stella!

After mass today, the Parish bade a fond Farewell to Sr. Stella, fmm who has been with us for more than a year in Kota Bharu. During her mission here, she has been sharing her life and offering her service  through her visitations to parishioners' homes and individuals. This important mission was her special project to listen and discern  together with parishioners. May God continue to bless her in every way in her new mission to Kuantan.

On Holy Saturday, at the Easter Vigil Service, 7 new Catechumens and 2 babies were baptised/confirmed. The meaningful service was enriched by the beautiful singing of the Fatima Youth Choir to the accompaniment of the musicians. ( Photos curtesy of Josephine Fonng.)

Palm Sunday and World Youth Day Celebrations

Yesterday, Friday, 11th April 2014 was Palm Sunday.  The start of Holy Week was celebrated as usual with the blessing of palms outside the Church in Fatima Hall, followed by a procession into the Church. The Liturgy was animated by the Youth who also celebrated the 29th Anniversary of World Youth Day. After the Thanksgiving and Post-Communion Prayers, all the youths present were invited by Fr. Robert to the front and it was a sight to behold. We never realize that the youth made up almost half of the parish ( about 150 or more). The youths made their World Youth Day Pledge and commitment before Fr. Robert prayed and blessed them. This year's theme is the first Beatitude - "Blessed are the poor in Spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.'  We are indeed blessed by the presence of our youths, who represent the future leaders of the Church and the nation. May God continue to bless them, as they pledge their commitment to be witness of Christ in their lives.
